I meant to copy a Starfinder campaign from Classic to Unity and accidently cut/pasted it instead. So I copied it back to Classic. I have decided to run it in classic, but now every time I load that campaign into Classic, it takes ten times as long to load and I also get a popup with the following error: Script Error: [string "scripts/manager_class.lua"]:323: createChild: Invalid argument 1 .

I then uninstalled and reinstalled FGC. Same error. I then deleted the Starfinder and CoreRules.paks and then updated them back in. Same error. Is there anyway to get my Starfinder system back to normal?

Edit: I also created a new SF campaign and while it loads much quicker; I am getting the error message on it as well.

Please note that I also have a Pathfinder campaign in FGC, and it loads quick and does NOT give the error message.

Thanks.

There may be some issues with the campaign itself if your starting to see issues. The error your receiving should be fixed with the latest update to the the ruleset. I'm going to move this thread to the Starfinder forums for visibility by the developer. In the mean time, try opening a fresh campaign and see if you continue to see that error.

So an update. I have deleted both campaigns, and uninstalled FG. Reinstalled FG. Created a new Starfinder campaign. Everything was going flawless, until I started loading modules. I loaded maybe 5 modules, and then when I started loading Alien Archive 2, I suddenly got the same error message again. It then repeated the same error message every time I loaded the next module. Please note that this was a brand new campaign, with NO carryover from the deleted ones. I am starting characters from scratch. Ironically, this does not appear to be having an actual effect on the game, but I am a bit concerned that it keeps reappearing. I am tempted to just make this another Unity campaign to be honest.

For me this error came up today for the first time, AFTER the Starfinder ruleset was updated. I can confirm the long load times as well.

Edit: And it doesn't happen, if i load other existing campaigns using other rulesets. Call of Cthulhu works fine for example.

I tested this in both FGC and FGU with the ruleset fully up to date and I am not seeing the errors you are reporting. I am also on CoreRPG ruleset v3.3.11 and SFRPG ruleset v2.1.1. Can you verify this for me?

Probably a newb question, but how do I find the version number on each of those rulesets?

When you first load up the session, the chat box will display the version numbers. I would also check to be sure that you don't have any unpacked rulesets in your rulesets folder as well.

Looking in the chat window when the game starts

Is this error comming in Host mode or from a client?

I am on CoreRPG 3.3.10 and SFRPG 2.1.1., all on FG Classic, but i ran the update function and can't get any more current version.

It worked fine until i ran the last update.

There is something that came to mind, and it might be related. Earlier i received an error message that there was an issue with some Windows font being replaced within FG.

33826 This is what my rulesets folder looks like.
33827 And here are the versions I am currently running.

I keep updating it. How do I get the more current version?

The current version is 2.1.1, you can go to your data dir and remove the SFRPG.pak and update. This will load the current version in the system. Also verify there are no unpacked version of the rule set. (you should not have a SFRPG dir in you data folder).

These are the same versions that I have. And I cannot get my Core to update from 3.3.10 to 3.3.11 (I have deleted the pak and updated multiple times.)

You’re running the current live channel version of CoreRPG. V3.3.11 is only available in the test channel or FGU (I think). But I don’t think this is the issue - this error has been reported before.

Can you please show a pic of the error message you are receiving as well from the console. If this disappears, you can type /console into the chat to have it appear.

I am getting the same error message. In FGC v3.3.10 SFRPG ruleset v2.1.1 with no extensions. I tracked it down to the Pact Worlds mod. If I unload the Gm and Player version of the books the console error goes away but when I try to load the books I get the error message. I have not had time to do any other testing but this started one to two week ago. It also occurred when loading the Alien Archive Players book.

Script Error: [string "scripts/manager_class.lua"]:323: createChild: Invalid argument 1

For those having this issue, are you an administrator on your system, or have you tried "Run as Administrator"? I have Pact Worlds, and have not run into this problem.

I didn't have to run FG as admin before. What is different with the most recent update that i am supposed to run as admin?

I'm on macOS and I am an Admin of my system. I get the errors every time I load my Starfinder campaign and I can create the error over and over by opening library and unloading and loading books.

So far I do not get the error when running FGU only FGC.

I'm literally able to load all of the rulebook modules (GM and Players, as applicable) with no script errors. If I could duplicate the error, I'd be able to track it down, but as it is, I am completely hobbled by being unable to duplicate.

Is there away to send you a better log of perhaps a screen share on a problem computer?
