Still new to Savage Worlds. Are there classes in the ruleset, or is class kind of determined by your skills and edges?

There are no specific classes in Savage Worlds. Various settings will provide archtypes, backgrounds, and sometimes even professions. Each can help give you a set of skills or bonuses or just help define what your character is about. But there are no classes.
