In the spanish 105-keys keyboard, the square brackets are written using ALT-GR:

In FGU the ALTGR activates the CA shortcut, and it is imposible to write special characters as {[]}, simply, they dont show.
In FGC it also activates the CA shortcut, but it lets you write special characters.
Tested in CoC7, SW and d&d5.

We don't have any reliable means in FGU to determine if the user has an ALT-GR keyboard. We have has discussions around the best way to implement a solution. In the meantime, could you try using CTRL+ALT instead of ALT-GR? It would give us an additional data point and get us closer to an ALT_GR solution. Thanks.

CTRL+ALT works for writing []}{ in FGU, yes.
Why dont you replace the CA-shortcut activation to CTRL+ALT and leave the ALTGR for its locale purposes, I guess this problem occurs in other languages, not only spanish.
