First of all forgive the bad grammar. So lets get to the MEAT i just spent all my birthday money on fantasy grounds ultimate and this will be my first go at running a game(super excited). i was to run the Curse of Strahd so my question is if i buy it from here will i need all the other stuff that come up under the d&d essentials like mordy's tomb of foes, players handbook etc . i know it says essentials its just ive been stood down at work (#coronasucks) and dont have any money coming in and all that awesome stuff is a big investment. so my boiled down question is if i just buy strahd can i run a campaign with my nooby friends without running into problems?

p.s. ive been playing pathfinder for years using my mates hero lab and d20pro. but ive been watching alot of critical role (i foiking love it) and i want to give it a bash. i know ill never be a matt mercer but my new found excitement for 5e has brought me to super sayian levels. first time in a forum too:D.

First off, WELCOME!

The materials you need depends on your level of wanting to create the content yourself. You can create your own modules with any physical materials you have. There are a ton of guides and videos that detail this process. The modules in the store provide you with that work already performed and provided in a clean manner. Now the store modules are made with only the materials contained in the books they are based on. So if your player's want to play a certain archetype from Volo's, you would have to build it by hand or take it off the list of available materials available for play. So the character options available will be based on the modules you have either created or purchased. Hope this helps and happy gaming!

As said, with the license and the adventure, you have everything you need to play. Everything else is optional. Useful, but optional :)

And welcome to the community :)
