Chat No Longer Showing Sum

Hello,

We went in to play our event tonight, and quickly noticed that the dice rolls in the chat window are no longer showing the sum of the roll, just the roll and the modifier. It may be worth noting that we downloaded an update tonight before starting.

I assume there should be a setting for this in options, but am not finding it - Quick question is, how do we get the sum to show now?

I just tested this and yeah, the dice roll totals are not showing. Don't make me use math! lol

There are no chat options in the options menu when I go into it.

Yep, somethings changed since one of the last few updates. I'm 99% positive it used to show the totals. You can right click and do sums but it should default with the total showing.

I updated this evening (7/8/2020) and see the same problem in both 5E and Call of Cthulhu. I had the sums showing a few days ago, as I was using math in die rolls for CoC

I checked a different computer I hadn't updated, and the same problem occurs on the 2020-03-26 update.
Right clicking on the dice in the window brings up the pop-up and I can select the SUM option to do the math for me, but I liked it before when it automatically reported the sum

+1. Just checked with "/die 4d6k3" and it shows the dice, and dims the dropped one, but no summing.

Yup same here. I thought i was going nuts. I use CoreRpg and it stopped adding stuff up. I then tried PF and same thing. Rolls are not adding. I installed MoreCore thinking this would solve it. Nope. Its broken. I just subbed to FG. Im noob to FG. Trying to learn. This is not helping as i wasted 3hrs trying to find an answer. Ty poster for saving my insanity. I hope this gets rectified quickly. I have a game coming up soon and want to sell this to my players.

I just found this same error. The Options should have "Chat: Show roll totals" under Game (GM) settings but it has also disappered from the Options.

I ran into this in last nights 5e game as well. It is doing the math and calculating the hits correctly, and it will show a damage total calculation in the small text, but the roll icon area on the right only shows the die roll and the modifier, no calculation. I can right-click on each individual entry and choose the equal sign to get it to show the total, but that's a huge pain to do during the game.

Must say what I have proposed in a couple of posts: if things are working, can you stop updating for 2-4 months until we are past corona? Then we don't have to lose access, functionality etc. all the time.

I hope the devs don't stop pushing updates. FGU is beta software. It is currently in development. One should expect the introduction of issues while resolving issues and implementing new features. That is part of software development.

Besides, for many people, FGU is not at an acceptable level and they have the expectation that it is actively being developed and updated weekly or so. They would be quite put off if updates stopped being available.

As a new user I was deeply confused by this at first. I had *just* started learning to use FGU and then all of a sudden this changed and I couldn't figure out what I had done to screw it up. I pulled my hair out for a while before wondering if maybe it wasn't me… :)

4/10/2020 - Not sure if it's in today's update, but the SUM of dice rolls is not totaling again. 90% sure when I was in FGU yesterday 4/9/2020 it was.

So If have a +4 to hit and I roll a 13, it says d20+4 with a 13 under it. Same thing with skills.

I was running a d&d 5E FGU game using unlimited license with players connecting using demo.

Same problem...rolls are not showing the total sum...dice + modifier. Interestingly, I can right click on the chat roll and pick the "show sum" option, but that should be the default setting I would think.

Just pushed quick fix for this. I was hoping to bundle with other fixes we have coming, but those need a little more work.

Can someone update, and verify that it's working for them again?

Totals are back, this will make my dyslexic player very happy.

Windows 10, 4E and 5E. Latest build.
Sum issue for me only working on the Server (GM) and not the Client. Do you know if there is a setting that needs to be checked?

Sums are now showing in both GM (paid, ulitmate) and Player (free, demo) screens. Thank you kindly for the quick fix!

I'm not seeing that on player rolls in CoreRPG. What ruleset are you running? Are you running any extensions?

It worked for me as a player after the fix but only after reinstalling FGU/deleting the data folder. For the other players in my party it just worked after the fix.

I am running 4E and 5E. I removed all Modules with same results (no SUM). I uninstalled FGU but kept the install directory with the data files with same result (no SUM). I then uninstalled and deleted the data file directory. This resulted was FGU dice SUM working.

Had a group connect Friday 4/17/20 to play. Running a LAN game (Have hi-speed FIOS) using FGU Unlimited license, D&D 5E, and 5 players connecting - one licensed, 4 not.

Dice summing in chat works for two of the players, but the other three it does not. No idea why it works for some and not others. I can grab the roll and pull down to get the total.

The summing problem is back. Using 5E. It only shows the dice number but no result. is it an internal problem, me waiting to be fixed, or am I the problem?

It looks like its there but the wrong colour font is being used.
What theme(s) so you have loaded?
