I was wondering if it would be possible to add a field to the character sheet where players can attach an image link for a larger portrait, or maybe just the ability to attach images to the background / note section? I have a few players requesting something larger then their tiny portrait hex.

I have my players upload a character image to me. I then resize them to a rational size and put them into an image section that I call PC portraits. Share them with the table then all the players can see all the character images.

I would like to see an option like this as well.

Hi Folks,

I'll take a look into the VtM Ruleset and see what we can do with Images for our players.

For my game, like Emsdev, I have put them all into a folder and shared them.

Anyway, let me look, it won't go into v1.1.3 as I'm calling time on this update tonight.

Cheers,
MBM

Maybe something like this.

37260

I did this in a 3.5/pathfinder character sheet and it is still something I did not finish and it was not tested in live game.

I can share details if you are interested.

PS.
This was pure amateur work in xml and code of FGU.
As I mentioned before I am not completely sure how exactly it will work in live game. Also this kind of image can be put anywhere.

If you have the extenion you should post it up in the 3.5/pathfinder sub forum or the Armory. People would love it

Meh. On the list of what FG Traveller "needs", given the limited resources that Mongoose is devoting to FG Traveller support this is waaaaay towards the back of line IMO. Get High Guard up and available as priority #1

Hi, erm what do you mean by 'the limited resources that Mongoose is devoting to FG Traveller support'?

If you look at the ToDo page you'll note that High Guard is in testing, though the book isn't much good without the ruleset updates, those are being worked on.

Cheers,
MBM

No insult intended, I appreciate all you do. Guess DnD 5E has me spoiled with all of their FG stuff ready to go at the same time as the physical books are released.

It is true, 5E has as many developers as they need to have to get projects out at release and copies of the completed works early enough to do that. It also helps that everything in the official inventory has been released.

On the flip side, MadBeardMan is a one man show that needs to support multiple rulesets. It probably doesn't help that Mongoose doesn't actually have the final layout completed on a book until just before the PDF drops. Plus even when the book is done there are additional delays, when CSC was completed it sat at SmiteWorks for 5 weeks before it hit the store.

The sadness of logistics is there were 875,454 5E games run vs. 4,998 Traveller games run (I assume that is all systems including classic). The good news is that Traveller games have more than doubled since the previous pie chart so yay for that.

MadBeardMan, the sadness of Mongoose support is that they really don't advertise for you at all. When the Rolemaster ruleset was updated it was the headline of the ICE newsletter. When CSC was released - crickets. You really should ask Matt to plug the on their website.

As Emsdev says, I get the PDF once it's ready and then it's on sale the same day! Mongoose are a small company, so they don't have the lead times that WotC and others do. The current issue I have is that they're releasing material faster than I can work on them.

That leads to the next point here. LordNanoc who's been doing a sterling job on testing has started helping with the conversions. He's completed Reach 5 (should be released next week) and Reach 6 (in a month or two). I've been speaking to BackwardOracle around Pirates and he'll be helping test that, as it's a monster of a campaign.

I also do work on other rulesets, my work on VtM is pretty much complete, takes no time now (hence the flood gates of new Traveller material). I've been working on WOIN recently which will continue, and my CoC work is coming to a close, though I need to finish Masks which is another 3-4 months of heavy work. I've also got RuneQuest spinning up. If Traveller material sold like 5E did, I could quit my day job :) I'm very good at switching between things, and I hope in 6 months I'm doing Traveller/RQ only.

Where's this pie chart please, I'd like to see the comparison over the years.

Last point, Mongoose aren't the best when it comes to advertising. They have recently started sharing some bits on their Facebook pages, but don't do anything with my tweets etc. I do ask him but it's him doing it and he's busy with other things. They need someone to look after their social pages, and that's not me.

Oh another last. SmiteWorks. When CSC was ready it took almost 6 weeks to go live, the backlog is still around 4 weeks. I've also had issues with updating things far too often.

Anyway in closing, increase sales by 10 times and I'll think about doing this part-time, increase sales by 100 and I'll do this full time :)

Cheers,
MBM

Hi.

Pie charts are in the blog.

Scroll through the blogs and there are several covering different time periods spread across several pages of the blog. Shows a definite improvement over time.
