Question:

Are there anybody running Rolemaser sessions with FG now?
Just a question out of curiosity.

Thanks.

Great game - deserves far more support than it gets.

Unfortunately I think your post might be near the first mention I've heard of the game on these boards.

Thanks for your comment, Sigurd.

In fact, I have rulebooks of RM2, MERP, and RMSS/RMFRP, but unfortunately have never played them. No one can read English stuff around me, and I cannot launch a RM session by myself either, since I'm not native in Enlish. To be a GM with a never experienced system (moreover, it's RM, the minute detail rules, you know) in non-mother tongue is a tough task. Sounds almost impossible.

Lately, I've been thinking about running a game of Rolemaster or MERP but I doubt the player base exists here for such a game. Who knows, it may happen...

Stuart said he'd be away from the keyboard for a week or so.
Let's make this topic alive till he get back.

5 people with commitment is better than 25 people vaguely interested.

And four people commited after one session means you probably played Call of Cthulhu.

Ha, ha, ha, LOL.

Na, thats the third session.

First session you're just counting the bodies of the people who'd otherwise be able to tell you whats going on ....

I'd be interested in RM too.

Check out this thread :

Please post some sort of "nudge" ... obviously, it would be "unpolitik" for me to do so ... I live in hope but ...:(

HinterWelt have an interesting system that feels like a combination of d20/MERP and HARP ... I like it. I plan on running the Roma Imperious module at iCON.

Thanks Stuart for the thread URL (Hope you'll get well soon).
........Oh, Vroomfogle has been engaged in it himself for 10 years......hope is the most needed thing it seems.

To any RM fan.
If RM ruleset and character sheets etc are not supported officially for FG, how then, would you play RM with FG when you dare to do it NOW?

Mission impossible?

(I feel a bit funny myself, rememberig the fact that I've never played RM before.)

Although having a ruleset would be great and a character sheet is always nice, it's important to not lose the idea that those things aren't necessary to play the game using FG.

FG brings the players together, rolls percentile dice and if you own the rules, you've got all you need right there.

Pusher, thanks a lot for your comment. It encouraged me.
-------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately however, it seems there is no group playing RM wiht FG right now.....

Thanks for your attention to this topic, everybody.
This might be the conclusion as to the playability of RM with FG at this stage.

But..............if you have any plan to launch RM sesseions with FG in the middle-earth world setting, please count me in.

Pusher

You've convinced me. :)

I'll run a game set in Middle Earth but we'll use the MERP system. As you know it's a bit simplified version of RM but when playing online, one needs all the help one can get.

What do you think?

What time are you looking to play ? I'm GMT based, Tiha is about 10 hours ahead of me (I think...).

Pusher

I'm in GMT -7 so the weekend would work best for you guys. Is that right or am I once again tripped up over time zones?

thiha
February 13th, 2007, 01:07
Mine is GMT+9
i.e.
GMT-7...GMT...GMT+9
CN(Sat7:00)-UK(Sun14:00)-JP(Sat23:00)
CN(Sat10:00)-UK(Sat17:00)-JP(Sun2:00)
CN(Sat13:00)-UK(Sat20:00)-JP(Sun5:00)
CN(Sat16:00)-UK(Sat23:00)-JP(Sun8:00)
CN(Sat19:00)-UK(Sun2:00)-JP(Sun11:00)
CN(Sat22:00)-UK(Sun5:00)-JP(Sun14:00)
.....

CN(Sat13:00)-UK(Sat20:00)-JP(Sun5:00) would be fine?...and biweeky base? I don't mind to be an earlybird on bi-Sundays, if I can bend my steps towards middle-earth.

That game time works for me just fine. Now let's see what Stuart says and maybe we'll be able to get another player or two as well.

I'll make a new post for the game.

If we can get going, let's exploit the "Note" page of the default FG d20 character sheet for general character data, till we get any of the MERP/Rolemaster character sheet for FG.

In such way, we should type the dice roll modifiers manually to the chat window, but it's still much faster than developing a character sheet newly.

Saturday biweekly works fine - I just need to avoid a clash with a game I currently play (also biweekly) - The 8 PM GMT slot is perfect if Tiha is happy at an early start and if you can make that Pusher ?

Just thought I'd post a link to someone's Arms Law D20 conversion:

Q: what are the final prefered game times. If I can make it I'd love to play.

Can I get in? I'm in Okinawa. I still need the software and I've never played Rolemaster. I've been waiting on a timeslot that works. Can someone PM me the info?

Stuart

Contact the DM - "Pusher" by PM and request some info, three players last weekend so in theory, 0ne or two slots available ...
