All I'm try to do is to add an image to FGU.

I have added the image (a JPG and a PNG both) to C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds\campaigns\Ghost Ops\images.

I can go to ASSETS --> IMAGES and not see it, but clicking on FOLDER results in:

https://i.imgur.com/xYS95oO.png

I can the close the FOLDER and not see my image in the IMAGES & MAPS interface. I can restart - and still nothing.

What am I missing?

Click assets and search either for the image name or campaign (if you put it the the campaign images folder) or data (if in the top level images folder) and drag the image and drop into the opened images and folder dialog.

You have to place the image, outside your campaign file,

so SmiteWorks --> Images
not SmiteWorks --> campaign --> images

For me they will then show up in my images.

Those instructions worked great, thank you.

It also seems 100% likely that this question will be asked over and over again because there are zero obvious reasons to complicate what had once been a simple task. (I am sure that there is some sort of 'valid image' test or CRC building or something hidden going on that makes life better. Or maybe it involves the multi-layered things that you can now do.)

Because in FGU their is no longer a 1 to 1 relationship between a file and an image. NIn FGU an image can be made of of several or several hundred image files/assets.

I get what you are saying, and it's a change I'm going to have to make since I normally create my maps in CC3+, but I don't know a reasonable software solution at this point.

If you put images in Smiteworks>Images the images will appear in assets in 'data'.
If you put images in Smiteworks>campaigns>images they will appear in assets under 'campaign'
