Normally I am the DM in our online campaign. With the ongoing corona crisis the DM of my offline gaming group wants to continue his campaign in FG.
He has a standard FGU and FGC license (for playing online in my campaign), while I gave an ultimate FGU license (standard FGC). On top of that, I own the 5E core rulebooks and adventures, while he has none.
What is the best setup to minimise the purchase costs for this (hopefully) short workaround.

1. Can I, as a player, joining his campaign, share my books to my DM?
2. Or is it better to give my DM a GM status in the game session I host

That is a great question, and one that my D&D group has as well!

You cannot do either.

Thanks Zacchaeus. That's pretty much what we thought. But, no harm in asking someone who knows!

Time to give the GM a break and move into the hot seat!

The books just make the automation easier, most of the spells are in the SRD which you have access to with any FG license, anything beyond that can be put into FG as needed. You can build items, character sheets and the like, just takes longer without the books.

Also worth mentioning that everyone in the group will need at least the standard license unless the other DM upgrades to an ultimate license
