Hey guys , given the new social distancing rules our group of some 20 years is making the leap into the digital age . We have multiple copies of every single PF1 book. To run an AP in Fantasy grounds do we need to buy all the books again , or can we use the hard covers and just the AP and Core Rules ??

No need to re-buy anything. All it means is if you don't have a FG version of a book that doesn't have a SRD/OGL community version is that you would have to enter the information manually into the character sheet or read the room description from the adventure etc.

Check out the 3.5/PF sub-forum. There are stickies at the top that have links to the available community modules were you will find a bunch of FG modules you can install that will include most NPCs and races/Classes, etc. They don't have the artwork, but generally they have the 'crunch'.

When it comes to adventures, you can pretty much run these from your hardcopies. What you will want in FG are the maps and then the NPCs setup as encoutners os you can add them to the Combat Tracker and appropriate map. You can do all that without purchasing the FG adventure, but the FG version will save a lot of time.

A couple more things, if you link your Paizo account with your FG account (see Store > Paizo Account Sync) you then will get a discount on any FG product that you own the PDF for. And if you don't have the PDF, you will get it free from Paizo when you purchase the FG version. Also, see this post, it's about 5E, but the concepts apply for PF as well; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?32987-What-do-I-need-to-play-5e
