Hi all,

A little background.....I am completely new to Fantasy Grounds. My experience with online play extends only with Roll20.

I have been running a face to face tabletop game of Paizo's Curse of the Crimson Throne for a couple of years now. Due to Covid-19, we don't want to gather face to face until everything clears up. In the meantime, I want to continue with it online. Roll20 does not have the Curse of the Crimson Throne package but Fantasy Grounds does. Here are my questions:

Should I start with Fantasy Grounds Unity and will the Curse of the Crimson Thrones package work for it?
Would I also need to pick up any other packages such as the Pathfinder Rules?
Is there a way for the party members to upload their character to FG from PC Gen?
Can I set it up where only I pay for the subscription and my players don't need to?

Looking forward to the advice from the community!

Thanks,

Joe

All DLC is supported both on FGC and FGU. So CCT works with Unity (and if their is an issue it will usually be fixed in less than a week of being identified).

FGU, some people are playing their games on it. But it is in beta and their is a chance you might have problems or have to cancel a session if you rely upon it. There have been recent challenges with the game brokering services, though a fix was pushed today to address some of this, but I don't think it is expected to resolve all these issues.

Personally I would pick up a FGC Ultimate subscription for a month. Maybe a one-time license, but a subscription is probably wise.

Nothing else would be required. It might be helpful and save you and your players time, but nothing else required as the SRD content is already included.

I don't know about PC Gen import. I think so... but not sure. Nylafs/Paul who is heavily involved with PC Gen is also involved here with FG so I assume the answer is yes... but he'll probably respond here soon.

If you get the Ultimate, then your players can use the free/demo version :)

Yes, and the PCGen import is nearly seamless. I think the only issue is the spellbook. (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?21025-Updated-PCGen-exportsheet&p=443343&viewfull=1#post443343)
