Hi there!

I'm thinking about buying Fantasy Grounds, for our group by now gets spread out all over Bavaria, so we won't be able to meet frequently.

My Question would be the following:
If it's the case that, say, three people could meet in one location, thus being able to use a LAN to connect to the host (who is amongst the three), and two other participants are away (so need to connect by www),would this be possible (two guys or more connecting by LAN and the others connecting over www to the same game session)?

Thanks for answering!

That can be accomplished by having the LAN clients connect to the "internal" IP address (typically something like 192.168.xxx.yyy, which is shown by Fantasy Grounds if the computer is behind a router); and the Internet connected clients should either type in the alias you give out to them or the real external IP (https://whatismyip.org/ is one of the places that tell you the external IP). So in short, that is doable.

SoulBurner you should double check your friends on the Internet can connect to you through your ISP by using the demo. Ocasionally, an ISP also controls access to the Internet and you use their firewall and they won't port forward for you.
