"Borrowing" Elements

How difficult would it be to borrow an element from something like "Savage Worlds" and using it in "5e" - Like the Bennies system, or the Adventure Card System? Is this allowed- for one- and for two, are there any mods that can add individual elements like this?

You have the Advantage System and Inspiration in 5E. Use Inspiration to track the players Benny pool perhaps.
Sure you can do a full Benny implementation but that will require you to go coding.
