So, not really a FG issue but for the last year I keep getting windows ten updates that wont let my Direct X initialize. (hence I can't open FG).
so I have after continuing to look for a solution kept having to go back to restore points to erase the update. Well today after another damn update my comp says sorry you have no restore points. Any ideas what I have to do now?

I suspect you will have to install directs 9.

If not successful try this:

Note - This is a two step process. The installer download unpacks files to a location of your choice.
You then open the folder and find the DXSETP.exe and run that to reinstall DirectX.
Once the reinstall is complete you can delete the folder the files were unpacked to.

Ty, I will work on that. I tried the windows updater troubleshooter and unlike in the past it fixed the problem this time.
this seems to be a known issue with Windows and direct X
