.
first off, i'm just technically inclined and know enough to be dangerous, but not enough to be expert.

with that, i can only do 1d3 damage, mostly to myself, from trial-and-error. what i'm showing here is just my own understanding and using lingo that i'm familiar with.

so, don't geek-shame me.

background:
- i wanted to host fg using parallels on my macbook for testing creating skins (creating graphics is easier on mac for me)
- i also wanted to be able to log in as a player for testing while gm instance is running
- i have 2 legit licenses to run separate instances of fg on same desktop
- i couldn't easily find solution on fg forum using its search function...
- too many instances of "port forwarding" "mac hosting" etc. -- couldn't find answer
- for all i know (or not), there's already a post on here with the answer i wanted
- i spent a couple of days googling and found how to get this working
- i'm creating this post with keywords in post title; hopefully others can find it more quickly
- i'm posting screengrabs with embedded notes instead of text-in-post -- i'm just visual that way, and a picture is worth... well, you get the idea
- feel free to send my feedback / correction notes
