New to FG.

After sorting out a bit of a false start, I'm ready to get going.
I have downloaded lost mines of phandelver as I had bought the box version to learn how to play D&D. Yup I'm a total noob. Has anyone got suggestions how best to use FG to learn how to play. I hope to find a group to join once I am feeling brave.
