Adjusting Max SAN without Cthulhu Mythos

Hi there,

Apologies if this had already been covered elsewhere, but a search has not turned up a way to do this. I am currently running Horror On The Orient Express using Fantasy Grounds and whilst the character sheet auto generated your Max SAN, the only way to lower that max is by adding Cthulhu Mythos. However, there are numerous things in CoC that can lower a PC's max SAN.

Is there a way to directly alter the max SAN for a PC on the character sheet? Or is there a custom skill that can be added that will do the same?

The PCs sanity value changes often, but I'm not aware of what (other than the PCs Cthulhu Mythos score) things lower the maximum that a PCs sanity can go to. Would you mind expanding on the numerous things you mention please?
