How to make use of a ring of protection

Hi, new to FG and I have a question. I must be missing something. When I add a ring of protection to a character, how do I modify the characters saving throws since FG does not do it automatically? I don't see a magnifying glass icon next to saving throws in the 5E ruleset. Do I have to do it as an action? seems kind of clunky.

I think I found an extension that will allow me to add permanent effects when an item is equipped

SAVE: 1

Thank you, I am going to create it using the advanced effect extension, that way I do it once and anytime I give out the item its already done. Plus it won't clutter the char sheet as much
