After some technical problems on my end last time another attempt (though a bit earlier so more people might be able to join).

Please bear in mind that some countries are still in DST, others are not, so double-check your timezone!

Tier 5-8, the subtier will depend on the players. Make sure to decide on a reasonable subtier.

Please schedule around 4 hours for the game but bear in mind that as a higher-tier scenario it might run a little bit longer.

Please note that I'll likely not be able to answer questions/accept players tomorrow.

About the scenario:

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–8.

When the Society starts finding evidence of missing weapon caches showing up on worlds in Near Space, it puts together a team to investigate. The PCs travel to one such world, where they uncover enemies of the Society are outfitting the pre-Drift locals with weapons well beyond their technology level. The PCs must choose how to handle this delicate situation, but the Society is clear that it needs its weapons back and out of the hands of those who aren't ready for such technology!

Sangoro's Gifts is the second of two adventures in the Stumbling Society series. This adventure is preceded by Starfinder Society Scenario #2-06: The Stumbling Society, Part 1: Sangoro's Lament. These two scenarios are intended to be played in order.

Technical details:

We will use Fantasy Grounds (I have an Ultimate license) and Teamspeak.

Steps before the game:

Make sure to both apply here as well as in the game calendar (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/calendar/index.xcp?id=3658), stating which character you'd like to play.

If you apply, make sure you send me your previous chronicle sheet of the character you want to apply this chronicle to (if you already have any chronicle sheet) either here or on Discord (Fantasy Grounds channel). If it is your first SFS game, I'll at least need your Paizo Organized Play # and your faction.

If you haven't already, also make sure to either build the character on FG yourself (and send it to me) or log in early enough so you can do so on game day.

Make sure you have updated Fantasy Grounds.

FG alias and Teamspeak server can be found under GM annnouncements in the game calendar.

Other notes:

Also make sure to track your purchases on the Inventory Tracking Sheet.

Be sure to apply on time (if you can make it) as the last games were rather full.

In your own interest, make sure the party is somewhat balanced level-wise.

Some boilerplate clarifications:

Please apply on the FG forums on both the game calendar as well as in the game thread (if multiple household members are playing, one person per household is sufficient). First, it's easier to tell how many spots are already filled that way. Second, the other players (as well as the GM) know what level and class to expect from your character (if you don't know yet, simply state TBD). Third, you'll get notified about any updates if you post in the game thread (at least about the first one). Fourth, it allows the GM to determine who applied first should it become relevant. Some exceptions might apply.

Also, please be sure to check the thread for new messages occasionally. You don't have to check each and every day or every few hours but please make sure to reply to any posts that do concern you in time. Should you remain unresponsive, I'll give the spot to a player that applied after you (as I won't know whether you are still interested in participating or not). Exceptions might apply, e.g. if you state beforehand that you won't be able to respond due to traveling.

If you apply but don't show up or drop out during the game without notice, in future games I might also give preference to other players who have a better track record of showing up. I am aware though that life and technical problems can always happen, so don't worry if you have a valid reason though.

These rules are not in place to prevent players from playing but in fact to enable players willing to play to actually do so. It's frustrating if I have to turn down players if it turns out they would in fact have been able to play.

Hey there, I signed up on the calendar,
I haven't actually played starfinder, mechanically dnd 3.5 is probably the most similar. I understand it and pathfinder are very similar.

Charrly is a 6' 8" mean tank of a Vesk. He know how to hit and be hit. You might recognize him down at the end of the bar drowning his sore joint pain in distilled high grain milkweed. He played holoball with the Frontier Avengers as a forward for the last few seasons. Or maybe its for the regretful cloaca salve commercial endorsement he did last season. That damn thing is still playing on TV. Charrly really needed the creds, but thats not exactly the recognition he was looking for. Things are looking up though. He thought he saw some scouts for the inner worlds teams in the stands the last few practices. Maybe he'll get an invite to play, or maybe it was just another lost tourist.

If its not appropriate to generate a character at the level needed, let me know.

Hi,thanks for signing up.

Aside from the character options themselves, there is not too much difference to Pathfinder or even 5E. See here (https://nerdsonearth.com/2017/09/7-important-differences-between-pathfinder-and-starfinder/) (short) or here (https://geekdad.com/2017/08/15-key-differences-between-starfinder-and-pathfinder-rpgs/) (more detailed).

As this is Organized Play, you unfortunately would have to have the appropriate chronicle sheets for your character (basically you would have to have it leveled through the Organized Play program). You can however take a level 8 pregen (https://paizo.com/products/btpy9ukw/discuss?Community-Use-Package-Starfinder-Society-Pregenerated-Characters) if you want.

Alternatively, there likely is a game next weekend by me (either level 1-4 oder a higher level game again) and The Commencement (https://www.fg-con.com/events/starfinder-society-1-01-the-commencement-2/) and Pact World Warriors (https://www.fg-con.com/events/starfinder-society-2-01-pact-world-warriors/) (both for level 1 characters) by Malkavian_Andi.

Okay. Cool. I'll grab a pregen. However if someone who has a real character for this comes along, feel free to bump me. I've DM'd 5e too, so if its similar I shouldn't have too much trouble.

Update on FG Con games:

Malkavian_Andi is running

SFS #1-01 The Commencement (https://www.fg-con.com/events/starfinder-society-1-01-the-commencement-2/) (level 1-2) on SAT 7 PM UTC (if there are enough players) and

SFS #2-01 Pact World Warriors (https://www.fg-con.com/events/starfinder-society-2-01-pact-world-warriors/) (level 1-4) on SUN 1 PM UTC.

I'm running SFS #2-07: Four for the First (https://www.fg-con.com/events/starfinder-society-2-07-four-for-the-first-level-1-4-repeatable-for-new-and-experienced-players/) (level 1-4) on SUN 8 AM UTC (hopefully with some Oceania players) and potentially one other game.

As I don't want the SFS games to conflict no game on SUN 1 PM UTC by me but I can try to run something on SAT 1 PM GMT UTC if there is interest for yet another game.

Potential scenarios would be SFS #1-34: Heart of the Foe (level 3-6), SFS #1-38: The Many Minds of Historia (level 5-8), SFS #2-09: Bluerise Breakout (level 1-4) and #2-10: Corporate Interests (level 3-6)

Any interest/preferences?

I'll post in Game Announcements once I've decided on whether to post another game or not.

I can get up early and play at 1300UTC this Saturday (that's 6am for me in Colorado) -- however, the only two I'm eligible to play are Bluerise Breakout (with Dr Tara Watts, level2) or Minds of Historia (with Otto Mayshun, level7)

Thanks.

Currently three people interested in Bluerise Breakout and 2 people in The Many Minds of Historia. I'll have a look at Bluerise Breakout to see whether it's short enough to start a little bit later without colliding with the next timeslot.

I'm actually fine with starting at 6am my time this weekend -- with recent shift off of DST, it still feels like 7am to me! I've been waking up by 5am MST so far this week anyway...

question about Kiiriinta PCs: they have a fly speed equal to their land speed -- can they just transition willy-nilly between the two? can one alternate rounds (walk-fly-walk-fly- walk-fly)? or is there some kind of activation required for a fly speed?

It would even be possible to split a single move action between walking and flying, which is especially unproblematic when your fly speed and land speed are the same (as is the case with kiiriintas).

Hm, good question.

As Malkavian_Andi mentioned, there is no action needed to switch. Not entirely sure about whether you can switch between walking and flying during a move ("If you have a fly speed, you can use move actions to fly through the air.") but it should not really come up too often either way.

SAT 1.30 PM UTC SFS #2-09: Bluerise Breakout (tier 1-4)

The event is pending, so no link yet.

I'll probably post in game Announcements tomorrow morning.

3 players need to be signed up 24 hors before the game. In theory 3 players expressed interest for that specific timeslot but we'll see.

From the event page: "You might have noticed I stated this scenario is for experienced players, even though it's level 1-4. While Starfinder specific experience is not necessary, I highly recommend having some kind of plan."
