View Full Version : Double click to select word

It's standard everywhere to select a word when you double click it. Fantasy Grounds doesn't do this (at least not everywhere, notably in Story text) and it would make quickly formatting much much easier. For example, I'd like to quickly bold certain words and drag selecting is considerably less convenient. The dream is double-click Ctrl-B.
I hope this is an easy feature to add. In lieu or until then, is there a plugin or mod that provides this feature?
Is this the right place for a thread like this? If not, I apologize.

Welcome :)
There's no extension I know that does this. Not sure if it's possible or not (probably, but never heard discussion of such).
It's ok to post such ideas in the forums, though ideas here will usually get lost in the shuffle over time. The best place is the wishlist, https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/ That is monitored by SmiteWorks and allows us users to vote on the ideas etc. And, it's always best to search there first to see if the idea has already been suggested.
Note, with the upcoming FGU release, things like this probably won't be incorporated until after it's release, and they may actually already be included in the update since it is a completely new engine.

Thank you!
Yeah, I'm looking forward to FGU. Backed and hyped! I suspect you're right about that, but I've added it to the wishlist anyway (https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/proj/fg2app?ia=128053).

but the fake patches work. Still is not right that this is the only option.
It should work in menu too. The game costs a little too much too be buggy like this. esspecially after 7 years.
is it a windows 8 thing? Or is it steam?

Welcome to the forums and FG Community!
It's a "base code was developed before predictive and adaptive text was a thing" thing. Parts of the code is over twenty years old.
