Hi All
I wanted to just let you all see what i've been up to. Basically I'm keen to get my own ruleset off the ground. It has been in development for several years (haven't they all!!) and is set in a real world post apocalyptic setting. At the moment I am implementing graphic changes to FG and then I will add in the rules and source material. I have some good artists and writers onboard so hopefully it will be something enjoyable. I must stress that this is still early days for this idea and I am hoping it is something that will grow with FG when version 2 comes out.
What do you all think? Is the PA setting still an interesting one or has it been done to death yet? PS sorry about size of image. I will know to reduce it next time. :)----ok thumbnail enabled
--hope that works

Hmmm...

I am sure the image is really big! I cannot see it? Perhaps if you posted a link?

It would probably help if you posted the display URL, not the upload URL...

You've peaked my interest. Wanna see the nice picki :)

Nice :)

Not to big a fan of that background (+ it doesn't tile well - look at the right side of the screen). I like the rest of the layout :)

What I'd really love to know is how you incorporated the images... I know this question has been raised around here a lot without an answer.

Well one way to do this is incorporate the image as part of the frame and format your text around it. It probably isn't the ideal way but it works.

Very very nice. :) While this might be just a TAD problematic for some graphic options (like individual weapons) it DOES work very nicely with other things like the hardcoded races etc.

Some Screengrabs to show my progress,
https://img127.imageshack.us/img127/5510/snap4ya7.th.jpg (https://img127.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snap4ya7.jpg)
this shows my Archetype selection pages. btw for those that are wondering...it's the /image tag that i use to call up the images in each node. I'll let you figure out exactly how it works (so much can be said for using your noggin', i had to and it was soooo rewarding!)

Next is the second page of the character sheet... I always like the idea of having a character pic on the sheet and so have incorporated a way to do this (granted a bit of code change is needed in the db.xml for each character but hey it works). you can then isolate the image and share it with the rest of the group as and when you please (ideal for making a grand entrance and you want to show off what your character looks like to others in the group).---you can even draw over the image for some added humour!!

And finally the 1st page of the char_sheet...still WIP but coming along nicely... Just to point out that the all stats and skills from the Archetype section can be dragged to create a new charachter sheet with those values. So that s what I've been working on so far...only another quadzillion other ideas to implement. Cheers for the comments so far...Keep 'em coming!

Gives us a hint?

Hmmm... I'd bet the code we need for full color is in the code used to show of maps et all.. Hmmm, so, I dissects that I should get something to show images with I suppose.

Now comes the problem of saving the name of the image to be shown...
.. and therein lies the quandry.

A string of course of some sort, and the use of it to call the image...
... field mayhap?

Am I getting closer or am I spending time barking up a tree at a bee's nest?
