1: Create a new map
2: Add a grid
3: Select Transform
4: Add an asset such as a floor tile
5: Click to add the asset to the map
6: Select Duplicate selected layer and move the duplicate to line up with the first
7: Repeat 6 a couple of times
8: Now delete the layer using the bin icon at the bottom right
9: Click on the map to add a new floor tile and the previously deleted layer returns.
10: These remnants cannot be selected in any way; however closing and re-opening the map does remove them

I'm assuming that this is not expected behaviour - or of course this is not something the user is expected to do.

Addendum: In the above I was using one of Shockbolts 'Floor' assets set at 2 grids square. When I tried the same procedure with one of his backgrounds, which are much bigger, deleting the layer only removed the last object placed. The rest stayed on the map. Again closing and re-opening the map did remove everything.
I should also have said that when 'duplicate this layer' is clicked it does not actually create a new layer. Again I'm not sure if this is expected or not.
