So playing about with the draw tools:

1) New map - add a grid and floor
2) Selected brush tool
3) Drew a shape
4 Selected the eraser tool and tried to erase

The following error was produced

I've filed for Carl, since he has asked me to pause image fixes while he is working on a larger image data change.
