If i bought an ultimate one-time license in Steam,
1.) Will FGC licenses transfer to FGU? Will I have to pay again for the FGU?
2.) Can FGU input other language words other than English?

:confused::confused:

I hope someone can give me the answer please.:D:D:o

Hi wingtli7, and Welcome! to the Community,

No, current Fantasy Grounds Licenses will not transfer to FGU, a new license will need to be purchased.

However, recent purchases of FGC will get a discount on the eqivalent FGU Licesnse - and end up with both pieces of software as well :)

Cheers

Thanks dulux-oz .
I have other questions,
Can FGU input other language words other than English?
Are my FGC DLC can be free in charge to transfer to FGU?

As for other languages, their is currently the community LPak project which should be useable with FGU; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?27202-LanguagePak-(LPak)-Community-Project-Program

There has also been discussion of character sets and and support of non-latin characters from the lead developer. It is something they wish to do, but not with initial release of FGU. See; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?49701-Will-there-be-CJK-characters-support-in-FGU&p=441935&viewfull=1#post441935

All purchased DLC should work as is in FGU. They will work on adding dynamic line of sight to maps from such DLC as possible.

I thought the tiered reduction based off FGC purchase date was just for the Kickstarter?

You may well be right, as I recall —when asked— John said they hadn't decided on post kickstarter pricing.

We the hosting connectivity of FGU be different or will there still be connection issues due to port forwarding requirements?

Is that mean we may have to pay for the ultimate license for the FGU?
It is sad to heard that. Hope that we can enjoy the discount on the equivalent FGU License.

I just realised that there is a FGU version coming out! I missed the time for Kickstarter backer! (Crying)

You'll definitely have to pay! As @Ampersandrew mentions, post KS pricing hasn't been decided yet.

You won't need to Port Forward with FGU; unless you want to.

To be clear - the architecture is essentially the same. The GM still runs FG locally and players connect over the Internet to the GM. Changes for FGU are:

1) IPv6 is now supported, as well as the currently supported IPv4.
2) SmiteWorks will use technology that will allow the connection to the GM to be handled via a lobby/proxy/punch-through (whatever you want to call it) setup that should mean that the vast majority of GM connectivity issues should not occur with FGU.

That was my personal impression as well. It certainly was the big bonus of pledging in advance.

I will say about post KS pricing, someone won't be happy no matter what decision is made. We say the kerfuffle over the Newcomer vs Veteran pricing and I'm sure whatever is decided upon will upset some folks.

Well to make the least amount of people unhappy in the short term would be to give the core program away, then Smiteworks folds and everyone is equally unhappy.

I'm pretty sure the owners of Smiteworks would be way more upset about that than everyone else.

You are right about that. People need to focus on the pennies/hour their gaming costs on Fantasy Grounds.

That's why I said least, that would be 3 (4?) people unhappy.
