im gona jump in with some sort of wishlist, if thats ok.

with regard to image windows (for dm and players)
can i turn off the rescale function and lock the window size to the image size?
can i remove the sketching pencil, scrolling arrows, etc, so its just a box with an image, at a locked size?

can i turn off the random roll tables, and even delete those numeric boxes on the left, so its just text, and links?

when a table DOES allow a random roll, can i set up a trigger to automatically open an image, tied to the dice result?

finally, can i lock or secure the mod in some way so that it cant be opened up and the images pulled out?

thank you hivemind for your continuing kindness and support.27670

Yes to all of the questions. But they require re-coding of the FG ruleset, so would need an extension to do what you desire. And if you remove them for one image window or table, it's essentially removed for all (unless you have some way of tagging the image or table to have different functionality).

The last one - locking a module, is only possible if the module is distributed directly from Smiteworks and is part of their encrypted vault storage.

so its doable, but its going to hamstring all of the functionality of the interface for any other mods, extensions etc?
is that right?
i feel as if there MUST be a better way to do this, but im too ignorant of the back end to find it.
and security wise, once anyone has the mod installed they have free reign of all the images then? like literally a giant folder of jpegs? or do the images sit "inside" the modfile?

I'm curious as to why you feel you need to lock down the functionality of the image control. Surely if people want to resize images and draw on them then that's entirely up to them. The image will open at the original size (unless it's very big - bigger than the screen), so why need to lock it's size? Doing so can cause issues for people running on very small or very large screen.

The images are inside the mod file. Which is just a ZIP file renamed, so people can easily access the images. The only way you can get encrypted content is to distribute through Fantasy Grounds. Then again - if you're providing images that can only be accessed in FG, and use FG encryption via their store, people can still take screenshots and get access to the images anyway.

If you don’t share the module with them they can only access what you specifically share to them. They can’t go in and peek ahead if that is what you are concerned about. If not ... we’ll i am with Trenloe: you have a very odd game in mind or we aren’t communicating.

Rather than asking about the details you think will solve your problem or concern, why don't you just let us know what your concern is and we can help you find a solution.
