Dice and Mid-Values

Question - how do you roll three dice and select the middle (median) value to display as the result? For example: I roll three dice and get the results of 1, 4, and 6. I would like to get the result 4 back. Same scenario but I roll 1, 1, and 6 and I would get back the value 1.
