I am looking to use FG for my home game. i would like to have my GM stuff on my laptop, while placing the map and player tokens on a wide screen for the players to see. I want to control all the tokens, i just want my players to see the map and tokens on the wide screen. Is this possible and if so where can i find a good tutorial to show me how to accomplish this.
thanks for any help

Welcome to the forums :)
lots of us use FG for playing in person. You may want to use this extension, and the thread has lots of good info for you; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?33834-Map-resize-to-TV-resolution-for-Face-To-Face-games
In short, if your TV is connected to your laptop, then start a second instance of FG, connect to the alias localhost, share the map image, and then maximize the map.

Hi and welcome to FG.
Yes tpyou can do this. More information in this post https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?25600-Using-FG-at-the-tabletop
Essentially you would start a second instance of FG and join your own game. Sent the output of that instance to your big screen.
