View Full Version : FGU - Steam, Ultimate License, Kickstarter pledge but no key... help

I hope someone can help me. Yesterday 5/1/19 I backed the FGU kickstarter and got the Rookie Upgrade ultimate. I currently own the Ultimate license through steam and was under the impression I would be able to get access to the beta. I did receive a confirmation number from kickstarter, but have not received any sort of key to enter into steam to get access to the beta. How can I get access to the beta/beta key?

You won’t get anything until after the Kickstarter ends in May 31st. Indeed it may be some time after that before the beta is released.

Delivery date currently stated for the FGU Kickstarter is December 2019; so beta will be much closer to that time frame. but before release.

Kickstarter means you’re helping a company "kick start" their project - be it starting something from scratch, or allowing the final touches, marketing, artwork, professional contractors, testing, etc. to be done in an improved manner and to allow the final product to be better, but delivered sometime in the future. You don’t get something immediately when you back a Kickstarter campaign - you pledge to assist that campaign for some reward when the project completes in the future.

Your payment method has also not been charged yet - that will be done at the end of the campaign funding period, Kickstarter will take a couple of week to collect the funds and then pass on to SmiteWorks their share. SmiteWorks will then collate all the payment details, send out a survey for backers to provide details of what they paid for, their FGC license number/s, etc.. Then SmiteWorks can start giving those entitled to alpha testing access, with beta testing sometime in the future after alpha testing has helped FGU get to a beta quality stage.

Once the KS finishes you will get an thing called a Backer Kit which you fill in and send to Smiteworks. They'll then contact you when the time comes via the details you give in the form.
