View Full Version : SFS #1-21: Yesteryear's Sorrow Sun March 31 @ 1.30 PM GMT

March 25th, 2019, 13:51
Tier 3-6, subtier will depend on the players. I do recommend a somewhat balanced party though.

Be aware of any summer time changes on Sunday (GMT does not change)! We'll try to figure out a new starting time, this Sunday will however probably simply be 1.30 PM GMT (but could be adjusted slightly for later scenarios based on responses).

Don't expect too much continuity from yesterday's scenario unfortunately.

Please schedule around 4 1/2 hours for the game, just to be on the safe side. I'd be surprised if it takes more than four hours though.

About the scenario:

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–6.

The Exo-Guardians' leader, Zigvigix, has been forced by recent events to revaluate the Society's arsenal of weapons. They order a new exploration mission to the irradiated nuclear wasteland world of Elytrio, homeworld of the beetle-like ghibrani species. Far from the homes of the surviving ghibranis, the PCs travel into a missile silo that contributed to the death of a world. What deadly weapons can the PCs find and what further concealed truths are there to uncover about the history of the ghibranis?

Content in Yesteryear's Sorrow is a continuation of the Starfinder Society scenario, Starfinder Society #1-03: Yesteryear's Truth, however, playing this previous scenario is not required.

Some boilerplate clarifications:

Please apply on the FG forums on both the game calendar as well as in the game thread (if multiple household members are playing, one person per household is sufficient). First, it's easier to tell how many spots are already filled that way. Second, the other players (as well as the GM) know what level and class to expect from your character (if you don't know yet, simply state TBD). Third, you'll get notified about any updates if you post in the game thread (at least about the first one). Fourth, it allows the GM to determine who applied first should it become relevant. Some exceptions might apply.

Also, please be sure to check the thread for new messages occasionally. You don't have to check each and every day or every few hours but please make sure to reply to any posts that do concern you in time. Should you remain unresponsive, I'll give the spot to a player that applied after you (as I won't know whether you are still interested in participating or not). Exceptions might apply, e.g. if you state beforehand that you won't be able to respond due to traveling.

If you apply but don't show up or drop out during the game without notice, in future games I might also give preference to other players who have a better track record of showing up. I am aware though that life and technical problems can always happen, so don't worry if you have a valid reason though.

These rules are not in place to prevent players from playing but in fact to enable players willing to play to actually do so. It's frustrating if I have to turn down players if it turns out they would in fact have been able to play.

Technical details:

We will use Fantasy Grounds (I have an Ultimate license) and Teamspeak.

Steps before the game:

Make sure to both apply here as well as in the game calendar (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/calendar/index.xcp?id=3438), stating which character you'd like to play.

If you apply, make sure you send me your previous chronicle sheet of the character you want to apply this chronicle to (if you already have any chronicle sheet), either here or on Discord (Fantasy Grounds channel).

If you haven't already, also make sure to either build the character on FG yourself (and send it to me) or log in early enough so you can do so on game day.

Make sure you have updated Fantasy Grounds.

FG alias and Teamspeak server can be found under GM annnouncements in the game calendar.

Other notes:

Also make sure to track your purchases on the Inventory Tracking Sheet.

Be sure to apply on time (if you can make it) as the last games were rather full.

In your own interest, make sure the party is somewhat balanced level-wise.

I would like to join Solarion 2/ Soldier 1

March 26th, 2019, 02:19
low subtier: lvl1 soldier or operative
high subtier: lvl5 mc mystic3/env2

March 26th, 2019, 19:22
Signed up with Wex (Technomancer 6) but I could run a pregen if we are looking to do the lower subtier.

March 26th, 2019, 19:29
Alright, looks like a legal table then with one more person interested (level 5).

low subtier: lvl1 soldier or operative
high subtier: lvl5 mc mystic3/env2

Unfortunately, only the level 5 one would be legal (tier 3-6).

March 31st, 2019, 12:18
As I haven't heard back from the 4th player yet, be prepared for either using a pregen or an additional level 5 character.

Be aware of any summer time changes today.

Advance warning: There is about a 25 % risk that we'll have to take a 30 minute break during today's game due to external circumstances. Apologies if it comes to it but we should still be able to finish within 4 1/2 hours (most likely even within 4 hours).

March 31st, 2019, 15:04
The server is up.

March 31st, 2019, 15:40
Currently only two players, so not a legal table. If you'll join today's game please tell me as soon as possible so I can tell the other players to stand by.

March 31st, 2019, 15:48
New start time 2.30 PM GMT (45 minutes). If we have 3 players, we'll start, otherwise, well cancel.

Chronicle drafts sent. Not sure yet whether there will be a game on the 6th/7th. If I haven't posted anything on Wednesday midnight, the odds are there probably won't be a game this week.
