I have made a few queries but I haven't found anything on this so I'll ask. How do people keep track of ability scores on a PC when a temporary effect causes a long term change in a certain score. I have sometimes just changed the score and tried to keep track of the original somewhere. Applying an effect like STR:1 is sometimes also done but I don't remember if negative numbers work in this field. It would be nice if when you manually changed a score it would show a modifier like when you manually change movement. Interested how others handle this.

Thanks!

Use <ability> -x. In other words for Strength it would be STR: -2 if strength were reduced by two. Set the expend to never and the target to self. This effect would reduce all attack rolls by -1 and all strength based skill checks by the same amount.
