View Full Version : Blank battlemap for FG?

I did some forum, and general, Google searching but couldn't find anything specific to FG. Is there available (I checked Images & Maps), or the best practices for a blank battlemap in FG? I want a white battle map with grid lines, so that if I need to quickly draw a map (walls, etc.), I can use the drawing tool.

My thanks, and apologies for what I'm sure has been asked, and solved, before :< .

Brett.

Right click, Create Image, Open Image, right click enter layers> Set Grid.

one other option, if you just need something quick and easy is to use the Party Sheet->Order tab. The marching & formation section can be used as a simple battlemap. Its blank and you cant change its size, but its usable.

Thanks mattekure. I considered that, but for the encounter it would’ve been too small. Good to know for future, quick maps!

Good Day All :)
Maybe I am just not seeing it, but where are the "Generic Multi-Use Base Map" backgrounds, or is that just something downloaded from elsewhere and saved?

Thanks :)

It's an extension that you'll find here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?28564-Marching-Formation-Extension

I'll have a word with damned for not leaving a link :)

These are not the best, but work for some generic map backgrounds. You can just draw any sized grid you want, they were made for a 50 px grid making each map around 160'x160'.

A further suggestion. Regardless of what base map you use, I find this https://www.huion.com/pen_tablets/H610PRO/ to be invaluable for anything mapping. Not horribly expensive but well worth it. Works very well with FG. IMHO....

Hi Brett - visit Pyromancers and create your own generic base map - I think mine was 20x20 x 4
eg I used 4 different tiles and created 20x20 for each.
I use that for games where I dont know ehere they are going :)
