I got the txt file with the information on updating the game. I did but alas nothing. Not quite sure how to update the thing into FG now...

What FG license do you have?

Follow the steps outlined here to make sure your FG username is set, then do an update: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Setup_Tutorial

Do you have any other purchases? If so, can you see them OK? Load up a 5E campaign, go to Library -> Modules and see what products you have there.
