Hello,

I recently purchased the ultimate 1-time license and I want to make sure I know how to let my players join since we are all very new to this platform.

Question 1: How to sign in to the client as a free player?
Question 2: How to join my campaign as a free player?
Question 3: Does anyone know of a good video or series of videos to help me learn how to use Fantasy Grounds?

Thanks for any help you can offer! :D

Sincerely,
Danylwb

All any player need to join a campaign with a GM that has an ultimate license is the same.
- Install FG
- (Not sure if they have to enter a username and password in settings)
- If they are extenral to the GM's network (i.e. over the internet), input the alias or external IP address of the GM
- If they are internal to the GM's network, input the internal IP address of the GM

There are lots and lots of videos. Since I dont like that format for learning, I can only point you to lists of them. You can search on YouTube, or the resources stickes on the forums here or check out the links provided here; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Videos

Note that any videos that talk about "CoreRPG" are the basics or base rulesystem and 90% of what they say will apply to any ruleset. Most newer videos are for D&D 5E, which is still very similar most of the other systems like PF etc.

Welcome to FG.

You don’t say what ruleset you intend using (5e, Pathfinder, Savage Worlds etc). We could point to some more specific videos if we knew. There’s also FGCollege and the FG Discord channels for more hands on help.

Hi and welcome.
There are a couple of articles in the User Guide (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/User_Guides) that will help to get started. The rest of the basic guide is also worth looking at, as well as the videos linked already. It's also useful as a reference for things like chat commands.

Hi Danylwb, and Welcome! to the Community,

If you want Tutorial Videos then there are a lot to choose from on the Fantasy Grounds Wiki (and on YouTube). Damn's are good, as are Xorn's, and people seem to like mine as well (mine are also available from the links in my sig, below).

Start with the ones on the CoreRPG, because the CoreRPG forms the foundation of just about all the RPGs we play with Fantasy Grounds - so by learning how to use FG with the CoreRPG you'll learn about 80% of what you'll need to know to play any RPG with Fantasy Grounds. Once you've gone through the CoreRPG Videos you can then go on to Videos about your chosen RPG.

When you get familiar with the basic Fantasy Grounds product the next step is to check out some of the Extensions (Plug-Ins) for FG, such as the DOE: Sound (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?31369-DOE-Sound-Extension), DOE: Locations (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20794-DOE-Locations-Extension), DOE: Weather (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?22142-DOE-Weather-Extension) and DOE: Organisations (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?27169-DOE-Organisations-Extension) Extensions (to name a but a few - and a Shameless™ Self Plug).

You may also want to drop into the FG College (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?40020-Join-Fantasy-Grounds-College-Learn-Fantasy-Grounds-learn-D-amp-D-and-then-play!); a great place for newcomers to get started.

And of course, there's plenty of Twitch Channels where you can watch games in progress (including my own - https://www.twitch.tv/dulux_oz - another Shameless™ Self Plug).

Your other questions are answered in detail in the first couple of my Vids - short answer was given by LordE in Post #2.

And keep on asking questions - we're a pretty friendly lot here, and we love answering questions.

Cheers
