My game group is using the default leather theme as it is the one we all prefer. Some of the members have complained about the sidebar icons, however, as the contrast between the image/words and the background is not high enough to easily discern which button is which. As the resident "image person" I have been asked by my GM to figure out how to do this. In searching, I've found that the default 5e skin is encrypted, but can anyone point me either to where I can get into the images just to modify that, or someone who has released a theme (partial or whole) that does this for us?

Welcome :)

I don't know if this extension is currently working or supported, but for 5E it changes out the sidebar icons/buttons. If it's not what you want, you should be able to make your own custom extension. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?32740-Colored-5e-Sidebar

There is also the art asset list you can use for altering themes with your own extension; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?36035-Art-Asset-List-for-5e-Themes

Welcome PinkPorcupine

Th default 5E leather theme is not encrypted - its just packed in the .pak
You can unpack this with any ZIP application.
The assets you seek are in /graphics/sidebar

I experienced a similar situation with the side buttons in my group and found that this extension worked best for us. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?34939-Core-Sidebar-Buttons-for-5e

In my opinion it gives a better contrast than the one that LordEntrails linked.

I second Ruvanal's suggestion. My gaming group had a similar experience with the default buttons. We started using that extension and we're all set now.
