View Full Version : SFS #1-15: Save the Renkrodas Sat January 12 @ 2 PM GMT

January 6th, 2019, 22:04
Subtier 3-4!

Just to be on the safe side, please schedule around 4 1/2 hours instead of the usual 4 hours for the game.

A starting time one hour later would also be possible.

Be aware that there will be vehicle combat in this scenario.

About the scenario:

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3-6.

For decades, the feathered renkrodas of Castrovel have teetered on the brink of extinction. Sympathies have grown for species' plight, and thanks to contributions from Radaszam of the Acquisitives faction, a gala and pledge drive is scheduled in one of Castrovel's wilderness preserves. When the PCs attend the gala as Radaszam's escort, they quickly learn that a group of extremists have dangerous plans of their own to end to the renkrodas' plight. When these extremists launch a daring attack, it's up to the PCs to save the gala, save the attendees, and—most of all—save the renkrodas!

Content in Save the Renkrodas also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Acquisitives faction.

Technical details:

We will use Fantasy Grounds (I have an Ultimate license) and Teamspeak.

Steps before the game:

Make sure to both apply here as well as in the game calendar (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/calendar/index.xcp?id=3308), stating which character you'd like to play.

If you apply, make sure you send me your previous chronicle sheet of the character you want to apply this chronicle to (if you already have any chronicle sheet), either here or on Discord (Fantasy Grounds channel).

If you haven't already, also make sure to either build the character on FG yourself (and send it to me) or log in early enough so you can do so on game day.

Make sure you have updated Fantasy Grounds.

FG alias and Teamspeak server can be found under GM annonoucements in the game calendar.

Other notes:

Also make sure to track your purchases on the Inventory Tracking Sheet.

Be sure to apply on time (if you can make it) as the last games were rather full.

In your own interest, make sure the party is somewhat balanced level-wise.

Newcomers to SF, SFS and/or FG are welcome (but be aware it will be subtier 3-4)

Signed up. I guess this means I will finally have to read the Starfinder vehicle rules though.

January 6th, 2019, 23:17
The most important rules are on p 282-285 CRB (with the majority only being relevant for the pilot).

There was a request to move the game time to SUN 1.30 PM GMT from two players, which might also work for me. Would it also work for the players that already signed up?

Edit: 3 players so far for the SAT date, potentially 5 for the SUN date (3 confirmed, two unknown).

Cassie's signing up for any of the schedules. Can you believe I actually forgot whether she's level 3 or 4? XD

January 7th, 2019, 00:23
Hello! I'd like to sign up for Saturday. If Sunday, then I'll most likely have to bow out due to my time zone difference.

Also, I have decent experience with both FG and SFS but this would be the first time I've played the Starfinder ruleset on FG, if that's okay?

I have available either a level 4 mechanic or level 4 envoy.

January 7th, 2019, 05:08
Sure, no problem. Glad to have you on board.

Seeing that we all spots are already filled (so a full party), I'm inclined to keep the SAT date.

January 7th, 2019, 17:42
Woops, small correction. My mechanic is actually level 5, not 4. I'll reflect this on the calendar entry also!

I'm still happy to bring either character, depending on what everyone else will bring!

January 7th, 2019, 20:41
Some additional information: tahl_liadon usually plays an envoy pregen, TheNIRL a drone mechanic. Jack has a soldier. I don't know yet which class ShadowHunter will bring.

As I never had two envoys yet in a party, I'm not sure how much (mechanical) overlap there would be with 2 envoys. It will probably depend on the build. Mechanic would obviously be out-of-subtier but might have fewer (mechanical) overlaps (though two drone mechanics would mean a total of 8 characters). But it's of course entirely up to you.

For all others: Stating the obvious but just to make sure: As this is a tier 3-6 be sure to bring a level 3+ character or a level 4 pregen.

January 7th, 2019, 20:54
i can play whatever pregen. no biggie.

January 8th, 2019, 17:40
Okay, so we've got a mechanic, a soldier, and a technomancer (chrisnhurd). Then perhaps I'll bring my envoy along if tahl_liadon is happy to play a non-envoy pregen.

tahl_liadon, if you're really tied to the envoy pregen, just say so and I'll switch to my mechanic instead - I'm happy either way as well!

January 8th, 2019, 18:35
i’ll play the pregen mystic 4, keskodai.

Announcement from Naiaj:

PSA from your friendly SFS lodge:

Remember: An unprepared Starfinder is a dead Starfinder.

Don't be a dead Starfinder. Go into missions prepared.

However also bear in mind that no plan survives the contact with the enemy.

It's better to expect the unexpected.

Never forget your serums of healing.

One player (mechanic) might unfortunately have to drop out on short notice, There was another player interested, so we might nevertheless have six players.

January 12th, 2019, 12:32
There was an issue with Teamspeak earlier.

If it works at game time, great, if it doesn't work, we might have to switch to Discord.

January 12th, 2019, 14:22
The server is up.

I can switch to mechanic if needed.

Chronicle drafts sent.

As usual, if you spot any errors or want to make any purchases be sure to tell me. Otherwise I'll sign them.

Next week probably SAT or SUN # 1-18 The Blackmoon Survey (Tier 1-4). Subtier will be decided by the players participating.
