Solo D&D using FG

Hello

I don't own FG (yet?) and while doing a Google search I did find a thread from a couple years ago about using FG for playing D&D solo. I'm just wondering if anyone uses FG to play D&D solo? From the message I read you can do this with the DM client alone, not needing a player client.

I've played most PC rpg's, but I've always enjoyed the dice chucking and dungeon exploration of D&D but I'm not a rpg'er (mainly the "r" portion). I'm already part of a couple gaming groups, so I'm not looking for the social aspect of D&D.

I'm trying to find any success stories (youtube videos, blogs, etc..) of using FG to play D&D solo, but no luck.

There are currently three (I think) FG Adventure modules available that were purposefully written for 5th Ed solo play.

I've played 3 of the 5 adventures that LordEntrails linked. They are pretty good. There are limitations but it works. I also have run many adventure modules solo. FG works great for it, better than when I used to do the same tabletop really since there's no clean up and it all waits for you if you need to take a break and come back later. Whereas tabletop you probably need some of those books if not the table and minis for your regular social games.

In addition to the adventures, I have read this product (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/242400/Elminsters-Guide-to-Solo-Adventuring), and it has good advice for using any product as a solo adventure.

The Avalon Game Company has done a couple of Kickstarters recently for their Solo Adventure System - which is a party based, broad framework for playing D&D 5E adventures solo. It's not "pick-a-path", it presents a location, background, quests, etc. and you read through following the instructions, setting up the encounters presented, etc.. Then play them out using standard D&D rules. They've produced a lot of material that is only just beginning to make it into availability outside of Kickstarter:

These would work quite well in FG - allowing you to play through, tracking your PCs and running the encounters.

I did a 12 hr charity stream and about 8 hrs of it was me playing solo adventures. It worked well and was a blast.

yes, u can simulate the D&D Adventure System by using the 5E rules.
