Hey everyone!

I am looking for a tool to convert images (specifically rectangular images in the form of vehicles). Ideally I want to have transparent backgrounds but this is not really a requirement.

Token Tool or Token Tool 2.

Edit: not sure how they handle rectangular pictures... your outcome will be a square or a circle I think.

The two I use are:

TokenStamp (https://rolladvantage.com/tokenstamp/) — a website-based tool that outputs very nice quality tokens.
TokenTool (https://www.rptools.net/toolbox/token-tool/) — a Java-based application (which for some is a deal-breaker) with a good library of token rings supplied, and it's easy to make your own with GIMP, Krita, Photoshop or other image editors.

As for transparent backgrounds, if you mean within the image you'll be making a token from, you'll have to create an alpha channel and set the transparency on your own within your favorite image editor. If you mean transparency outside the ring borders, the images in both of the tools above already handle that.

The tools above are both great. One other thing to help you decide which to use: TokenStamp allows you to put text (like names) on the token. Token Tool does not. For some people, that's a big deal. For me, it is not. I use TokenTool. I prefer the setup.

TokenStamp is easy to use and if you are only running for you own private games - no IP rights infringements - the easy drop function is a GM life saver.

Transparency is easy in GIMP - takes a few hours to get-to-know IMHO.

I think a thing to note is TokenStamp, the tool I prefer to use outputs all the images at 256x256. You will want to use some image tool to resize them down to the recommended sizes for FG. I also run them through pinga to reduce them in file size a little more.
