Help with basic questions

Hello!

I have a lot of interest in buying Fantasy Grounds to play with my friends, i'm a DM already so i want to buy the ULTIMATE license, but i have some questions before.

Q1) If i buy the players handbook, or any other book that have classes, armor, talents and etc, will the players that i invite to the campaign have access to the books, even if they don't own any of them (DEMO version players aswell)?

Q2) If i don't buy class books, how do i "insert" talents, armor and magics on the characters (i've read something about plugins, but i didn't understand very well)?

Q3) Do fantasy grounds have any map creator/editor?

1. Yes - you can as GM share your books/content with players while they are connected to you.
2. For 5E have a look at Zacchaeus videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV0vH1eeUZM&list=PLvtWYj3HpGj6aninQHnV7ZYH4fHpLg42I - it does vary from ruleset to ruleset.
3. No it does not. Use externally created maps.

Please also note that the FG client doesnt have support for other language fonts/characters...

But about the second question, i asked about creating a new character without using a player handbook base. For example: I want to create a new character and he will be a mage, but i don't have the player handbook, how do i add a magic, like a Fireball?

Type it in and manually create the fireball "action" (spell).

You can manually create anything that you want. All the drag and drop from the DLCs are great and a time saver. But if you don't have the DLC you can just create it manually. Anything in DLC can be done manually on the character sheets, if you want.

EDIT: Oh, thought don't forget, fireball is in the SRD, which is free :)

For 5e (and I think all) character sheets, players can input the entire sheet manually from a different source (hard cover book or pdf for example). The spells as well can be created and added manually. If you are playing 5e, the SRD data file has essentially everything that was in the free WotC Basic Players Guide which included a lot (but not all) spells.

The SRD contains everything that was in the Free SRD.
The Basic Rules (also included) contain everything that was in the Free Basic Rules.

Psychoz - the videos show you how to add your own content like classes and races.
For equipment or spells - start by copying something that is similar in behavior to your new item and then working from there.

As the good folk above have posted - the 5E ruleset comes with a stack of free/included SRD and Basic content.
