Pathfinder Beginner Campaign LF 3 new Players

Going to be running the pathfinder beginner box dungeon to help get newer players into the game.

-Will start off simple but slowly work in the more complex features as players grasp the mechanics
-Will be ran slow but thankfully with the nifty automation we can move much faster than ever even with a new group.
-Prefer New/Beginner players (New to Pathfinder TT) but will have 1 spot open for an experienced player
-Have never Gm'd online so will be as much a learning experience as it will be for you guys, but I believe it will leave me to be limitless on my creativity.
-Running two of the same dungeons/Campaigns at different times for two groups:
-Will be using Discord for voice communications
-I own the Ultimate package so to play the game is free to you

Itll be open all day attempt to connect and make sure you have no issues by 530pmCT I'll have instructions on how to roll your character sheets and have players made with temporary names that will be your usernames when you join the lobby so you know which character is yours. Feel free to change the name to what you want. Also providing me with a hand filled out player sheet would work as well if youd rather it that way.

Ability rolls will be roll 4d6 drop the lowest and add the highest 3. Do that 6 times and place the scores in the same order you rolled them. You're allowed 1 swap in between 2 ability scores. Character creation info will be on the fantasy grounds lobby 530pmCT if you join before then there wont be much to do besides knowing that you can connect.

Maria Enesco backstory - this uses a background concept that I found is quite helpful called the Ten-minute background

Maria’s ten-minute background
Step 1: Write five things about your character’s concept and background, five things that you think are the most essential parts of your character. You don’t have to stop at five, if you like… this is just a minimum.

• Maria was born in Korvosa to Andrei and Estela Enesco along with her five brothers: Bobar, Dragos, Gavril, Remus, and Tavian. Andrei is a sailor and his daughter’s hero, while Estela was burdened with raising six children. Andrei, when he would return home from a long sea voyage, would always bring home small treasures from distant lands and, more importantly, incredible stories of exotic locations and adventures. Because of this reverence for her father and his journeys, Maria has a strong sense of wanderlust.

• As the oldest child in her family, Estela relied heavily on Maria for assistance around the house. This was a responsibility and burden which she endured and tolerated, but vowed that when she had a chance, she would be free of such responsibilities and never return. One day, when her father didn’t return home on the ship he had contracted to work for, she knew she had to go searching for him.

• Maria discovered that her father was last seen by his ship’s captain in Magnimar, where he was left behind due to a broken leg. Maria made her way cross country to Melfesh where she contracted with a barge-captain to cross Lake Syrantula to Whistledown, on the lake barge she met an itinerant priest of Desna, named Felix Pescu. On the long trip to Whistledown, Maria became a devotee to Desna.

• After reaching Whistledown, Maria parted ways with Felix. Maria was to travel on to Magnimar, while Felix was to travel to Sandpoint to preside over the annual Festival to Desna there. They were to meet up in Sandpoint after the festival. In Magnimar, Maria discovered that her father had spent some time convalescing with a young noble known as Aldern Foxglove.

• Maria visited Aldern Foxglove at his residence in Magnimar and inquired after her father’s whereabouts. Aldern, pleased to make the acquaintance of this young attractive woman, invites her out to dinner and explains all that he knows of her father’s whereabouts. Maria and Aldern spend the next several days and Aldern’s charm ingratiates itself in Maria’s heart. Maria believes that she has fallen in love. Aldern agrees to escort her to Sandpoint to meet up with Felix.

Step 2: List two goals for the character that you, as a player, think would be cool to see accomplished in-game.

• Maria would like to visit the World Wound, Absalom, and the pyramids of Osirian.

• Discover what happened to Andrei Enesco and find him or his remains.

Step 3: List two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet.

• Aldern Foxglove knows what has happened to Maria’s father; Aldern murdered Andrei and plans to lure Maria to his manor to murder her as well. Obviously, Maria is unaware of this.

• Maria does not have her mother’s permission to leave home. She stole her family’s rainy-day fund to equip herself and buy passage as far as she could. All the rest of her equipment is hand-me-down gear from Felix.

Step 4: Describe three people that are tied to the character though blood, romance or honor. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. All can do something useful for you, if you can get the situations to line up.

• Andrei Enesco: Maria’s missing father.

• Felix Pescu: itinerant priest of Desna; Maria’s spiritual mentor and sponsor into the church of Desna.

• Aldern Foxglove: Maria’s romantic interest; last person to have seen Aldern Foxglove alive. Aldern Foxglove is a serial killer who has killed Andrei and plans to kill Maria.

Step 5: Describe three memories that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.

• Maria fondly remembers sitting at her father’s feet listening to his exciting tales and adventures as a sailor. She could just about see the great pyramids of Osirian, hear the bustling crowds of Absalom, or feel the terror of a demon-assault at the World Wound.

• Maria remembers her mother’s ceaseless back-breaking toil caring for her family. She also remembers how beautiful her mother; now Estela is grey before her time and has wrinkles. She has very little joy in her life.

• Maria remembers the exhilarating feeling of freedom and fulfillment when she first devoted herself to Desna. Connecting with her deity for the first time caused her soul to… sing. When she dances her prayer-dance each night under the stars, she feels a small portion of the liberation and ecstasy she originally felt.

Thanks for the input. I'm looking forward to playing with you all on Sunday. I played a bit of RotR when it first came out. My group had played 3.5ed for many years and tried Pathfinder... the group didn't like Pathfinder so we went back to 3.5ed. Several years later we started playing 5e and now that group has fallen apart. So this is my first experience playing on FG. I'm excited to see how it all works.

Update: Been trying out different methods of playing music/sound effects during our game, and it seems the easiest way is going to be to just have everyone join a Roll20 game and leave it on their browser, since it has the built in soundplayer on it. Will be much easier than getting everyone to connect to a radio stream.

5 Things about my Character's concept and background
1. Leon grew up moving from small village to small village with his parents, Douval and Bethana. Both of his parents had grown up as slaves most of their lives, and having been rescued and freed by a group of adventurers, had decided to travel the Inner Sea and explore as much as possible with their young son before settling down to retire of old age in a quiet town. However, before they had finished exploring the world and enjoying freedom, they were ambushed by a group of slavers who had been tracking them since they were freed. Douval seeing no other escape had sent Bethana and Leon deep into the woods while staying back to try and fight off the slavers. This is the last Leon has seen of his father, Douval.
2. Bethana was largely amazed by one of the adventurers who had freed her from her old masters, a bronze skinned woman who wielded a razor sharp rapier known as Ameiko Kaijitsu, and after losing Douval to the trackers, made her way to Ameiko's hometown of Sandpoint to ask her for help in any way possible. Ameiko was unable to go after the slavers herself ever since her adventuring group had disbanded, but instead offered to put Bethana up in her inn at the Rusty Dragon in return for her help in running the business. Bethana graciously accepted the offer in order to take care of her and her son Leon.
3. Having grown up traveling at a young age, Leon yearned for more sightseeing and grew increasingly bored with the work he did at the inn. One day while he was exploring the town, he met a group of kids his age who were going out to the tickwoods, a nearby forest known for its relative safety, except for the rare firepelt cougar or two. Eager to explore some more, Leon agreed to go with them and decided to take his mothers sword from her room as a way to look impressive in the eyes of his new friends. When the group had arrived at tickwood, the kids started searching the area for any small treasures they could take home to show off at turandarok academy, the school of sandpoint. However, one of the kids, a small redheaded boy with an impressive amount of freckles had stumbled into a clearing that was home to a pack of very territorial boars. The sound of screaming and squealing could be heard for hundreds of feet and Leon being the closest to the noises had taken off towards the sounds to see what was happening, only arriving just in time to see the small kid get gored by a boar of at least 200 pounds. Jumping into the clearing, Leon swung his mothers sword at the boar, cutting it deep and causing the animal to turn tail and run, but soon after, the other boys arrived and saw Leon standing over the gutted boy, sword bloody, and accused him of murder. Leon, afraid of what would happen to him or his mother if the town believed him to have killed another, fled the woods and ran off to hide on his own, promising to one day come back and explain to his mother the true tale of what happened in tickwood.
4. Life on the road was no easy challenge for Leon, and eventually he had to hone his skills and take advantage of his size in order to survive. It started small, maybe an apple in the market place or a few copper pieces off of an uncleaned table at a tavern, but eventually he started to take a real shine to sleight of hand and stealth, and before he knew it, he was running with the wrong crowd. Working for a small group of thieves in the city of Magnimar, led by a devilishly handsome man named Solomon, Leon became a successful rogue and was able to save up a small fortune which he vowed to use to pay for his mothers retirement so they could move far away from these cities and live a life of peace. However, luck was again not in Leon's favor, for the other members of the guild had caught on to how much Leon was saving, and had developed a plan to steal his savings while getting rid of him for good. Leon had been sent to do a scouting mission for Solomon on an old church under the Irespan in Magnimar while the other members had been dispatched to murder him, for they already knew the church had been abandoned months ago and guards no longer patrolled the area. Upon arriving at the church, Leon had found an extremely tight niche to hide in, one only a small halfling like himself could truly queeze into, and while scouting the church he caught sight of one of his brethren skulking in an alley and wielding a blade dripping with poison. After watching for a few hours, another brother had arrived and asked if anyone had sight of Leon yet so they could hurry up and split his fortune. Terrified of the betrayal he heard, Leon hid in the niche for 2 days until he felt he could safely sneak out of the city, knowing he would have to leave everything he had behind except for the coin he carried and his gear he had with him.
5. Having lost everything he had saved up for, Leon felt he had nowhere to go and nothing he could do for his mother. He had decided on leaving everything behind and disappearing for good, but that was when he found her, a lone human woman living alone in the woods and wearing what looked like the most beautiful ring he had ever seen. This was it, his one last shot to pay for his mothers retirement and get away from ever having to scrounge and steal again. Waiting on night, he crept into the camp and swiped the ring from the woman before taking off as fast as he could to Sandpoint, but unfortunately he left a very visible track behind that was no problem for the ranger he had stolen from to follow all the way to Sandpoint as well.

3 goals to accomplish in game
1. Pay for Leon's elderly mothers retirement
2. Get revenge on the guild who had betrayed him in Magnimar
3. Clear his name in Sandpoint once and for all

2 Secrets about Leon, 1 he knows and 1 he is unaware of
1. Leon hates stealing from people, and is ashamed of having done it for all those years. He vows to one day pay everyone he has wronged back.
2. Douval was not killed in the ambush of those slavers, but instead was captured and taken to a slave house in Korvosa. His old Guild leader Solomon knows the Slavers well and remembers the stories of Douval Corwin's escape/recapture.

3 People tied to Leon. 2 good and 1 bad
1. Bethana Corwin, Leon's mother and his sole reason for striving to be a better person
2. Henna Summerfield, a female ranger who Leon had the pleasure of robbing, but after a long heated discussion, became fast friends.
3. Solomon, a male human rogue who ran a small guild of thieves in Magnimar, and had ordered the murder of Leon in order to get his hands on his small fortune he had saved up over the years.

Memories that add flavor and context to Leon
1. Leon fondly recalls the stories his father tells of him and his mothers time together as slaves, and how they had worked together to make it through such a trying time in their lives. This leaves an impression on Leon and reminds him to be humble when listening to others tales and always try to look at the brighter side of a situation.
2. Going to classes at Turandarok Academy, Leon was always looked at for being a halfling. Even though people stared, he never took it as a bad thing and liked the attention he had received from others. He is always willing to make allies before enemies and has never shunned another race, including Orcs and half-orcs.
3. The first time Leon stuck his sword in something, he felt a rush unlike any he had felt before. At first it scared him that he could have such a dark satisfaction for violence, but eventually he learned to accept it as part of him and because of this he finds it easy to dispatch of someone who is opposing him without feeling upset over it.
