I've just gotten into Fantasy Grounds, and plan to use it as a GM for an at home game (for now). I have the Rappan Athuk Maps from Frog God Games as well. Which of the map types can be imported and used by FG: The multi-layered PSD files or just the single layer .JPG file?

Hi Quintin welcome to FG. You need to use jpg files. Try to keep the resolution down to 2048x2048 and the size down to 1Mb or less

It looks like the jpg files are about 5mb in size each. Other than response/render time, will this cause FG to crash?

The 5MB wont. How many pixels are they?

GIMP shows the pixels as: 2550 × 3300 pixels -- if you know how to change this to something that FG can work with, it would be appreciated.

Re-export, using a quality of 50 and chroma quartering.

Make sure you select "pixels" in step 4 and change the width/height appropriately. Changing 2550 to 1750, and the 3300 dimension should resize appropriately. This will result in an image within the recommendation.

Awesome.

A combination of your two solutions worked out. I re-scaled per Trenloe, and reduced the quality to 50% from the default 98 on the export. Now it's @500kb-ish.

Thanks.
