Hi, I'm new to FG and I'm testing out different features to try and figure out whether or not I want to use FG for my campaign. I'm not sure if the title conveys my question clearly, so I'll ask it again in here in further detail.
Is there any way as a GM to have the portraits of the character you're speaking as show up in the chat instead of the GM portrait? I feel the GM portrait is immersion breaking and it doesn't seem right to me that the players can speak with their character's portraits, but GMs are stuck with the GM portrait, no matter what character you speak as.

Welcome to the forums and FG Community!

Create a PC and take ownership of it.

That it what I tried before, and yet it still showed the portrait as "GM" in the logs. I'm assuming PCs are created in the "Characters" tab and you select the character you want to speak as under the chat window once the option is there. Do the players just see differently from the GM in that regard, and they can see the character's portrait?

You have to connect as a player with a second instance, then chat from there.

Its a kludge work around but it works.
It is something Id like to see supported in the future.

To add a little more context here as you might not know the specifics, by connecting as a player, Andraax means that you start you FG program as per normal and load your campaign. After that, start another instance of FG and join your first campaign but typing in "localhost" into the alias section without using the inverted commas. This second instance will join as a player view and from there, the second instance can select a PC you created to be an NPC and when you type in chat (from the second instance of FG), the PC icon will appear.

Are you looking to have the GM's portait match whomever they are speaking as, or are you looking to just have a different portrait for whenever the GM speaks that doesn't look like the current GM icon?

The former

I believe that his desire as well as my desire is as follows:
If I do scrolls, describe something appear the GM logo.
If I impersonate someone, or do some scrolling for any NPC, their picture appears.

The former, as others said. Whenever I impersonate a character or speak as an NPC, I want their portrait in the chat, not the GM portrait. I don't only want my PCs to have faces.
