View Full Version : Are all of the extentions enabled by a GM get their benefits applied to the clients?

So as the title says if I activate an extension on my side as a DM do the functions in the extension work for the players without installing the extensions themselves? Maybe I am asking a silly question but I haven't found anything in my search.

Welcome to the forums!

Ruleset and any enabled extensions form the framework that both players and the GM will use. If the players don't have the same version of the ruleset or extensions installed, they will be downloaded from the GM so that everyone is using the same base code.

Hi rational welcome to FG.

Yes, the benefit of the extension is shared with the clients. Of course not every extension has things in it that the players can do anything with.

Thanks guys, I spent a good chunk of the weekend exploring some of the extensions and wanted to make sure that I didn't need to walk my players through how to install them.

Welcome RationalSolutions

My suggestion to you is to learn the game without extensions first.
Reduce the complexity...

@damned I don't see how extensions will make it more complicated. I was really wanting to make sure that the action abilities extension would work for my players. I feel that extension does the exact opposite of making it more complicated.

no problem - just a suggestion.
there is no one way to run your game or your table top.

There is an additional level of complexity with regards to incompatibilities between extensions, so keep an eye on that. If one extension isn't doing what it says on the box, then make sure another one isn't hindering it somehow
