View Full Version : Problem seeing token data

I used to be able to see (as a DM) along with all the players, the respective HP and status effects etc, as I have them all enable in my options. However, in the middle of our session last week, all of it went away - we cannot see any names of tokens, HP etc. Nothing. Please advise, as we have a session in another 45 min or so tonight.

Thanks

Did you stop dragging toekns from the CT and start dragging them direclty?

I have done that yes, but the problem seems to be for encounters I have already made as well (which is the big problem). I can't even put new monsters on the map in question (from the CT) - it puts the token when I drag it to the map - but there are no names, HP etc on the token. I tried a different map, and it worked, but this one in my adventure seems to have gone a bit crazy. Any thoughts?

Sorry, I misunderstood what you said. I have always been using either pre-dropped encounters, or dragging directly from CT.

So, in short, I am still having the same problem with this one map...any thoughts?

Thanks

Does it work in a different campaign with a new map?

Is the map locked?

I have tried both locked and unlocked, the same problem.

Please provide a screenshot that shows the issue on the map where it doesn't work and also the map where it does work.

And also a screenshot that shows the chat window just after loading - so we can see the versions of rulesets etc. that are loading.

Here is a shot of the screen right now. I can't reload to show the version, as I have players on right now.23812

Thanks for the screenshot.

The issue is the scaling needed to fit the token in the grid square. See the 16 on the token in the combat tracker? This means the token is being scaled by a factor of 16 - but the hit point and other icons don't get scaled - see the small green hit point bars to the bottom right of the tokens on the screenshot?

What size (in pixels) is the grid on the map where the tokens are sized massively?

Release the Token Scale (right click on a token) and start again.

Thanks everyone for getting back to me on this. I got it to work, Damned was right about releasing the token scale.

I may be having a similar problem -- if not I'll open a new thread. I opened FG last night (5e ruleset) and the GM: Show Effects and GM: Show Health options were completely blocking the token (where as before they were smaller).

I did try releasing the token scale, but then all tokens on the map blew up to a large size and I had to delete and re-position. (Maybe I did something wrong / skipped a step.) As we're in the middle of a battle, and there are a number of tokens on the map I'm reluctant to do that again in case it messes up the tokens.

Below are screen shots. Any suggestions? My thanks!

release token scale and reset is the correct way.

Are these the correct steps (from this FG post (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?33945-Is-there-an-extension-or-setting-for-token-name-size-(or-tooltip)&p=288105&viewfull=1#post288105))?

It sounds, to me, like you have the tokens scaled incorrectly if you have to zoom in that close to see the name. Right click on a token on your map and select 'release token scale'. Now select 'Lock token scale' and then delete the token from the map. Now replace it on the map and see if that makes a difference.

dunno - i do it this way - after you release token scale - remove the tokens - then drop one on the map - scale it correctly if its not - and then add the rest back on
its not something that happens very often so i dont recall exactly what I have to do but its not very complex

Thanks. I'll give it a go.
