Hi, trying to install FG Ultimate (steam + windows 10) on a new laptop on campus, but the updater keeps timing out.

Status msgs:
Fantasy Grounds Updater v3.3.2
Getting packages from FG server
Getting examples from FG server
Getting purchases from FG server
Checking pacgage FantasyGroundsUpdater for updates
updating FG UpdaterEngine.exe
ERROR - GetPackageFiles: Network: time out
Retrying in 10 seconds

One possible problem is that your antivirus or Windows Defender is blocking FG.

University's guest wifi, which is a public network like something at Starbucks.

Urg... this is frustrating.

I was able to dl and play other games on steam just fine.

It really depends on how the individual guest network is setup. What access it allows, etc.. it may be blocking certain types of downloads, or it maybe blocking the FG download sever.

If you have access to a VPN service, that might allow you to download/update FG.

The issue was running an update - the guest network access was blocking that. The VPN got around the FG file download being blocked. We weren't looking at GMing. That could be the next issue... In which case NordVPN probably won't help with the port forwarding needed by FG.
