There's a bucketload of resources out there for fantasy maps, but what are you all using for sources for Starfinder maps?

Do you start with something you found and modify it?

Create maps from scratch in a program like Fractal Mapper or CC3?

Do you use something else for deck plans, or the same tool?

Various sources - Maps of Mastery, Armored Cartographer and Heroic Maps are the main ones. Plus Miska Fredman's Patreon.

Also CC3+ with the Cosmographer add-in.

I'm trying to get a bunch of sci-fi mapping content ported for use in MapForge. Watch the first four minutes of this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juIcYUYBXbo). Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?

It is, but past just me, I thought it'd be nice to have a resource for where to find this kind of thing. There are a lot of options and FG is daunting enough for newbies as it is ... be nice to know what the pros use for their maps!

What is your ETA on these sci-fi map packs?

The nine Add-Ons from PWork Wargames (https://www.mapforge-software.com/vendor/pwork-wargames/) have already been released.

As for the other stuff shown in that video, I'll see about launching a Kickstarter campaign for developing only new sci-fi content (since the Wave 2 campaign failed to fund).

Right now the maps we use in the official sourse modules come from Paizo with the product.
At least thats what I have at present. Some times a map comes in the GM format only and I will goe into Photoshop and modify it taking out building numbers, sectrect doors ect.. (GM related stuff) to make the players map. But other than that I get what they give us.

Horrorfox, I figured I'd drop by to let you know that the sci-fi Content is getting another shot at life in this new Kickstarter campaign (https://kck.st/2Qc56rT).

DUNGEONFOG (https://www.dungeonfog.com/) is something that I've been using quite a bit; mostly for fantasy but it has some nice textures and decorative objects that let you make space-ships, space stations and industrious areas as well. It's also very simple and straight-forward to use, compared to some other map-creation tools for VTTs that feel like I'm stuck trying to navigate a program from the early 90s.
