Can anyone recommend a good source (commercial or not) of black and white fantasy battle maps for use with FG?

I would take any color map and use a graphics program to convert it to grayscale. You can do a bunch of filters and effects with a lot of apps these days. (Windows photos, GIMP...)

How about something like:
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/934935710400394141/9F5F5029CBDB65A78F246A751188ABEC7D7F9020/
Created a simple hatch and solid walls as a mod and then draw (used Dungeon Painter Studio). Took about 5 mins to create.

His maps are absolutely great, but IMO they don't translate well to the online medium with all the over/under stuff he is apparently compelled to include. Too bad.

Hi John
I've just had a look and those maps are gorgeous. I'm not sure what you mean about the over/under stuff though. They look usable to me. What am I missing?

the challenge is with FoW/Masking revealing the over/under part of the map as the PCs traverse the other path.

Ah yes. I can see that.
Still, they are lovely maps, very reminiscent of Frog God's style in Rappan Athuk.
