Good morning, all. I wanted to let you all know about a sound website that is pretty cool and free. Its called Ambient Realms. Let me start by saying the layout of the site leaves a LOT to be desired, but it has some really cool sound ambience/effect and it is free to use online. I purchased a usb stick with his sounds last year and love it but you don't have to buy anything.

Trenloe, I thought of you as it has a lot of scifi/star wars ambience stuff as well. It also has sound ambience/effects that go with all of the D&D boxed sets (Wrath of Ashardalon, Castle Ravenloft, etc.) if you're interested in that.

So, I'm going to post a link below to their "live login" for playing sounds. It should open up a page that makes you create a free account. I get an email every so often when they have a new sound set available for offline purchase but that's about it. Once you create an account, make sure your sound is turned pretty low on your computer! For some reason he has some very loud sound playing as soon as you log in.. There is a pause button on the page that loads right underneath where it says 100GB plus+ of superior mp3 so you can pause the intro sound....

If you scroll down on the page you can click on the board games for those sounds or keep scrolling down for ambiences. (They even have some sounds that go to the first couple of sections for LMOP such as the goblin ambush, etc..). The audio battle ground maps for star wars legion button opens to several more links with a number of ambient sounds and effects as an example.

Again, the website could be structured MUCH better but the fact that all the sounds can be played free from the website makes up for that (IMHO).

Hope some of you enjoy!

I really like it but I also try hard not to overwhelm players with it. I know there is a fine line between adding ambience and increasing immersion and having sound be so overpowering that players simply turn it off! :)

Well I have now discovered something even better. My headset actually has a little feature, which is designed mainly for streaming but can be used perfectly for my purposes, where if I set the input device on discord right, my players will hear all sounds that I play. Hehe. Using things for things they were not intended, so much fun. lol

I myself have used the site Ambient-mixer (https://www.ambient-mixer.com/), and would like to suggest it.
