Interesting article. A few things of note;
- 40% of D&D players are women
- D&D is in its 44th year
- 2017 saw 44% sales growth over 2016
- 2017 players are between 12-15 million
- 50% of players started since 2014
- New D&D board game from Avalon Hill to be released this fall
- Seahwaks running back CJ Prosise is an intern at WotC

He's a 23 year old guy that plays a game in public. He has a contract to play that game for 4 years, and gets paid between 2.4 and 3.1 million US Dollars.

All for playing a silly game. I think he wants to grow up to be a game designer.

I think that's the goal of Critical Role, to get paid like CJ.

Great article, thank you for the link.

I've had the pleasure of gaming with Chris Perkins one time. He is a lot of fun. And I'm very glad to hear the game is healthy.

I’m looking forward to whatever cool stuff they do to celebrate 50 years of D&D!
