Hello again everyone,

My question is: is there any way to easily replace all of the tokens for a given creature in a published module so that it will take effect throughout the entire module?

For example, if I purchased the LMoP module from WotC and want to use custom tokens for all the goblins, is there an easy way to replace all "goblin" tokens throughout the adventure so they auto-update in every encounter, etc?

I know how to replace them for individual encounters and on the NPC entry, but unless I did something wrong those changes did not apply to all encounters. They only applied to the modified encounter itself and the NPC entry I modified.

I was really hoping I could simply replace the NPC entry token and all of the encounters with that monster would pull the token from the NPC entry, but that doesn't seem to be the way it works. Thanks in advance for your help.

The short answer is no. Once a token is allocated to an NPC in an encounter that token remains linked to the NPC in the encounter until or unless it is replaced.

As Zacchaeus says, you can’t do this without changing the token in each encounter. The functionality of encounters specifically allows the GM to override the default token of a creature, allowing for more varied token use across encounters. The downside to this is that if you want to change the token across all encounters, you need to go into each encounter.
