If I have a sword or a spell that does 2d8+x damage, what command would I type so I could put it into a quickslot?

There is no way to put in a die roll plus a variable, but if you know what the additional damage is you would do it this way (using +4 for x in this example):

Type:

/die 2d8+4 <description>

into the chat window, but instead of hitting enter you drag the text to the quickslot you want to use.

The <description> being replaced with a description of what the roll represents.

In other VT's you can use a variable and the software pops up an input box to ask you the modifier at the time you roll the dice. FG does not do this.

Also if you are a DM you can get the don't show the players the roll unless you want to effect by /die ?2d8+4
